Meet the above needs in the lives of others but don’t always count on them to meet them in yours.
Why is it so difficult for us to meet these needs for each other?
The man is the head of the woman – either as a father or husband. He provides physical and spiritual cover.
“Give honor to marriage and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery.” Hebrews 13:4
Sometimes the temptation to cheat comes because our spouses are not treating us right, because of personal addictions or because we want to achieve some goal, but cheating is never a sustainable solution to any problem.
It feels nice to flirt, flatter, fondle and fornicate with someone other than a spouse but the bitter pill of the consequences of cheating wipes out all the pleasures and leaves a sour taste for the rest of one’s life.
Any sexual sin or satisfaction outside marriage is adultery – kissing, one-night stand, pornography, flirting in person or online. Any emotional affair that replaces or attracts anything or anyone else other than your spouse counts as adultery.
Training our children in God’s ways is a sacred and great responsibility in the window of only a few years before our children grow up and move out of our homes to start their families.
Marriage brings the best out of you not only through the good times and helpful things your spouse does for you but also through the hard times and unpleasant things they do to you.
As parents, let’s talk to our children and teach them what God wants them to know. Let’s help them know their identity in Christ and discover their purpose in life. If we don’t, someone else at school, on TV or social media will teach them Satan’s lies.
Marriage is simple and beautiful because the initiator of marriage gave us the secret to a happy and flourishing marriage.
