BLESSED Christian| Equipped To Serve & Flourish

No other human being is as blessed as a Christian who knows their God and their identity in Christ.

That’s because

“By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvellous glory and excellence.” 2 Peter 1:3

No Christian has an excuse for not serving God in their generation.

Let’s take the word BLESSED as an acronym to see how God has equipped each of us to serve Him and His people.

Born Talents

– abilities given at birth like being musical, athletic, intelligent and creative among others.

Learned Skills

– abilities learnt through training like accounting, carpentry, marketing, medicine, flying planes and other career skills that people learn in school or mentorship.

Everyday Purpose

– growth in mind, body, relationship with God and people is the purpose of every human being.

We grow the mind through reading and learning new things, the body through taking great care of physical health, the inner person through intimacy with God and our social life through building flourishing relationships with others.

Specific Assignment

– unique task or role of each individual in a family or institution in a certain period like being a father, husband, wife, mother or child in a family, and holding a position in an organization.

A person’s talents and skills are key in fulfilling their assignment.

Spiritual Gifts

– abilities given by the Holy Spirit after being born again to serve in the church like teaching, pastoring, hospitality, leadership and evangelism among others.

Encountered Experiences

– shape who we become and what care about in life.

For instance, someone who went through an injustice may devote their life to fighting such injustices against others.

Someone’s past can be an inspiration or a distraction in their lives depending on how they handle those past experiences.

Determined Personality

– the way we naturally behave, communicate and relate with others.

Some people are extroverts while others are introverts.

It’s beneficial to assess your personality so you can know your strengths and weaknesses. Personality type determines not only how we relate with others but also the career that we’re best suited to.

For instance, an introvert, melancholy or complaint person may not perform so well in sales and marketing roles because being among people all the time drains them.
