Who is to blame when someone marries the wrong person, gets scammed out of their money, struggles with debt, or falls ill due to neglecting their health?
The nature of fallen human beings is to get ourselves into trouble and blame others except ourselves. Some Christians can blame Satan and demons or God rather than examine themselves to find out if they’re the cause.
King Solomon wrote;
“A man’s own folly subverts his way,
yet his heart rages against the LORD.”
Proverbs 19:3
Elsewhere, he says;
“It is pleasant to see dreams come true,
but fools refuse to turn from evil to attain them.”
Proverbs 13:19
Whether you are the cause of the problem you’re experiencing or not, your response and solution are your responsibility.
To get yourself out of trouble;
Acknowledge your role and admit you made a wrong decision. That also means accepting you’re in trouble.
Repent – confess your foolishness or sin and ask God’s forgiveness. His arms are always wide open to those who come to their senses and return to Him.
“He who conceals his sins will not prosper,
but whoever confesses and renounces them will find mercy.”
Proverbs 28:13
Ask God for knowledge, understanding, and wisdom on how to overcome and deal with the negative consequences of your former decisions.
“Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God,
who gives generously to all without finding fault,
and it will be given to him.”
James 1:5
In the aspect of your life that you’ve failed, what does the Bible say about it? What biblical truths in the Bible did you miss before that you need to pay attention to and start to obey now?
God is willing and able to help you every step of the way. But you must be ready to love and obey Him in every aspect of your life. All that matters to Him is your soul and your relationship with Him. Is that all that matters to you?
When you abide in Christ and seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit, God the Father will find a way to rescue you in His time and way.
“The LORD is good,
a stronghold in the day of distress;
He cares for those who trust in Him.”
